Seoul, March 26, 2012<\/strong>
\nAs hynix became a new member of SK group, it changed its name to SK hynix (\u2018the company\u2019, www.skhynix.com<\/a>) and held its inauguration ceremony on March 26th, 2012. At the ceremony, SK hynix declared to take off for \u2018the World\u2019s Best Semiconductor Company\u2019.<\/p>\n

With this, SK group has acquired another future growth engine on top of its core business of energy and telecommunications. The group is also able to accelerate its global business management and in turn, the maximized synergy will eventually lead the new paradigm of the ICT industry by combining competence in telecommunications and semiconductors.<\/p>\n

By creating a great synergy with SK group, SK hynix will be able to expand its business scope beyond a memory semiconductor provider and aim for the global leader in the semiconductor industry. SK hynix plans to further strengthen its mobile business such as mobile DRAM, NAND Flash and CMOS Image Sensor following the new IT trend in view of the application shift from PC-based to the mobile-centered. Also, the company will enhance its leading position in China, the world\u2019s largest semiconductor market with the SK group\u2019s strategy of \u2018China Insider\u2019. In addition, SK hynix will focus on System IC business and secure competent human resources for the long-term growth.<\/p>\n

The company also introduced a brand new Corporate Identity which is a combination of \u2018Wings of Happiness\u2019 of SK group and the existing corporate name \u2018hynix\u2019 which has been well recognized worldwide.<\/p>\n

SK hynix was founded in 1983 with the name of \u2018Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.\u2019 and it merged LG Semiconductor in 1999. In 2001, it changed the name to \u2018hynix semiconductor Inc.\u2019 and ever since it has well recognized as a leading memory solution provider and now is the world\u2019s second largest memory chip manufacturer with its world\u2019s best level of technology and competitiveness.<\/p>\n
