Hyundai Electronics appoints new Chief Financial Officer

– Hyundai Electronics announced today it has appointed Mr. Kyu-Chung Cho, a Senior Vice President of Hyundai Electronics America ( HEA), as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Seoul, Korea, March 13, 2001

Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd. ( HEI ) announced today it has appointed Mr. Kyu-Chung Cho, a Senior Vice President of Hyundai Electronics America ( HEA), as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Kyu-Chung Cho studied business administration at Yonsei University, Seoul, and received a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University, US. Mr. Cho joined HEI in 1984 as a Senior Manager of Finance. Subsequently he held positions in planning, marketing and sales. The new CFO and Senior Vice President will be responsible for accelerating the financial restructuring of the Company. The position will be given broader authority within the firm to more effectively address current financial issues facing the Company. The Company also named Mr. Kwang-Ho Lee, a Senior Manager of the Finance Department at HEA as a Corporate Treasurer. The appointment of these two individuals will greatly assist HEI as it moves forward with its financial restructuring. ### “These materials are not an offer for sale of the Securities in the United States.
