Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd. (HEI) announced that it had recently received certificates from the British Standards Institution (BSI) following an assessment of health and safety measures at local HEI semiconductor fabrication facilities. The certificates are British Standard (BS) 8800 and Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001. To earn these certificates, a corporation must establish systems designed to prevent certain types of workplace accidents while enhancing workplace safety. Those systems must then be evaluated by internationally approved institutions. Four local HEI fabrication facilities were assessed by BSI Korea last year, acquiring the certificates from BSI UK today. In December of last year, HEI also obtained a ‘Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency (KOSHA) 2000’ certificate for its safety and health management program from the Korea Industrial Safety Institution. By earning ‘BS8800’, ‘OHSAS18001’, and ‘KOSHA2000’, HEI has been acknowledged not just for safeguarding its employees, but hopefully recognized as ‘safe’ by its global customers as well. HEI will continue to implement precautions ensuring not only a safe but pleasant work place. About Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd. Hyundai Electronics Industries Co., Ltd.
