hynix Semiconductor Inc., today announced the validation of its 128MB and 256MB PC2700 unbuffered DIMM DDR333 SDRAM by Taiwan-based Silicon Integrated Systems Corporation (SiS), a leading core logic and graphics supplier that had previously endorsed the DDR architecture for use in its advanced logic, multimedia and connectivity chipsets.
hynix is one of the first manufacturers of DDR to receive qualification of its DDR modules from SiS, further validating its leadership position in the DDR market. In addition, hynix and SiS are scheduled to jointly promote DDR standard chipsets.
As part of that program, SiS645 chipset-based motherboards loaded with hynix 256MB DDR modules are about to send to over 25 PC trade journals worldwide for evaluation and testing. hynix and SiS expect this program will precipitate third-party product evaluations and benchmarking test reports that will provide their customers with the critical independent data needed to make valid design and purchasing decisions.
