SK hynix announced on Feb. 26 that it has been named a top-performing company in the ‘2025 Large-Small Business Safety and Health Cooperation Program,’ organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL) and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA).

Both its Icheon and Cheongju campuses were recognized for its extraordinary efforts to make safe and healthy workplaces. Notably, the Cheongju campus has been received the certification for the third consecutive year since 2023. It has also been designated a ‘Self-Compliance Worksite’ in recognition of its three-consecutive wins, demonstrating its capability in effectively managing the safety and health of employees at partner companies. This year’s evaluation involved a rigorous review process in which only the top 10% of the 233 participating companies, mostly primary contractors, were selected.

SK hynix has been providing practical support to address the shortage of safety and health expertise, and the challenges of applying such knowledge and measures on-site among small and mid-sized partner companies.

Through its “Cooperative Consortium,” the company has offered one-on-one consultations, risk assessment training, and on-site improvement initiatives. It was particularly recognized for providing actionable guidelines that enable partners to implement immediately, leading to reductions in worksite risks.

In addition, SK hynix established the Work Environment Health Center in 2019, a MOEL-certified non-profit foundation aimed at expanding its safety and health support beyond partner companies to include small and mid-sized businesses across the local community. This initiative has been recognized as an exemplary model that extends a culture of safety from the corporate level to the broader community.

The MOEL has been promoting policies to strengthen safety and health capabilities through partnerships among large and small companies, complementing the limitations of providing direct support to small businesses. It also has been increasing its budget for such programs each year. SK hynix continues to deliver meaningful results as a leading example aligned with this policy direction.

“Strengthening the safety and health capabilities of our partners is essential to supply chain stability and sustainable safety management,” said an SK hynix official. “We will continue to refine and advance our differentiated support models tailored to the specific industries and scale of our partners.”
