SK hynix Board Appoints Park Jung-ho as Co-CEO

Seoul, March 30, 2021

SK hynix Inc. (or “the Company”, www.skhynix.com) announced that its board has appointed Vice Chairman Park Jung-ho as co-chief executive officer at its meeting.

Park, in his new role, will be in charge of building the corporate culture and lead the company’s efforts to establish long-term strategy to strengthen global competitiveness and find new growth opportunities. Current CEO Seok-hee Lee will be responsible for development, investment and operation to strengthen technology and product competitiveness.

With Park’s appointment, the chair of the board will be replaced by the Lead Independent Director Ha Yung Ku (formerly CEO of Citibank Korea Inc.).

“We’ve decided to have both Park and Lee as CEOs to better respond to rapid changes in the global semiconductor industry,” Ha said. “We believe that Park, who has successfully run SK Telecom for the past four years, will help shape and lead the global ICT ecosystem.”

“Park’s presence will help CEO Seok-hee Lee better focus on development of cutting-edge technology for DRAM and NAND Flash memory products and the remaining procedures for the planned acquisition of Intel’s NAND and SSD business,” Ha added.

In a major shift from this year, the board of directors will lead SK hynix’s management, making key decisions through the sub-committees including the Strategy Committee, Compensation Committee, Audit Committee, Sustainability Committee, and the Nominating Committee for Outside Director.
