SK hynix was recognized for its consistent social contribution activities which stretch back 15 years, beginning before the company joined SK Group. These initiatives include supporting the welfare of underprivileged groups, developing technology-based solutions to social issues, and collaborating for shared growth with local communities.

SK hynix’s social contribution activities begin with the voluntary participation of its employees. Examples include the Happiness Sharing Fund, supported by employee donations matched by the company, and the Happiness Sharing Volunteer Corps, which engages in talent-based volunteering. These programs embody the value of sharing and mutual growth with local communities across various fields such as social welfare, education, and the environment. As a leading AI company, SK hynix is building on this employee participation and trust by harnessing AI to address social issues, bridge educational gaps, and promote shared growth with local communities.
The company continues its efforts to strengthen safety nets for vulnerable groups and address welfare blind spots through AI-based programs, including:
- Happy GPS: Helps safeguard individuals at risk of going missing.
- Happy Lunchbox: Provides warm meals to those facing food insecurity.
- Safety Fund: Conducts emergency relief activities during disasters and accidents to support those in need.
SK hynix also runs programs that connect generations through technology, such as:
- Silver Friend and ICT Sarangbang: Flagship initiatives that help seniors engage in digital communication.
- Heinstein program: AI education program for elementary, middle, and high school students.
- Happy AI Study Lab: Education centers offering AI programs such as coding for the youth.
- hy-classic Chamber Ensemble: A youth classical music group which fosters talent.
In addition, the company boosts the autonomy of vulnerable groups through inclusive job creation initiatives such as Purme Social Farm and Happy Moa. SK hynix also practices environmental sustainability and mutual growth through various initiatives. These include the Waterway Volunteer Corps, donations of AI smart guide robots, and the reusable container rental and cleaning project, helping to build sustainable local communities.
Growing Together Through Technology and Sharing

Receiving the award on behalf of SK hynix, Jung said: “This award is the recognition for our employees’ voluntary engagement combined with our commitment to technology-based social contributions. SK hynix will continue to address social issues through technology and develop a sustainable sharing ecosystem together with local communities.”
SK hynix is advancing its CSR strategy through social contribution initiatives which leverage AI technology to address social issues. Building upon its existing ICT-centered social safety net, the company is now developing an AI-based social safety net that can predict and address social issues. Under the vision of “AI for Humanity, CSR for People”, SK hynix plans to implement a new social contribution model promoting the mutual growth of technology and sharing.
